The Social Justice Graffiti Mural Student Committee of the St. Andrew’s Catholic Elementary School in Woodbridge, did an incredible job creating their first graffiti mural at their school.
This opportunity allowed the students to showcase their incredible talent and creativity while collaborating to make an impactful art piece. The school hosted an event to showcase the piece, which brought together many members of the community.
The mural acts as a welcoming and inspiring message to all who enter the school. The mural includes positive messages about unity, courage, world peace, compassion and more. The symbols in the mural represent school spirit and allow the students to have a sense of pride for their wonderful work.
This project helped the students reflect on positive messages that are relevant to the school, which makes the space feel more welcoming. It offered an opportunity for artistic expression, while reflecting on important topics and messages.
Congratulations to these students on their wonderful mural and doing an excellent job of representing the York Catholic School Board’s values.
